Bloomington Blogger wishes you a happy and prosperous New Year. 2010 will have to be better than last year. If we committ to these ten things for our liitle town, 2010 can mark a turning point for our hometown..So here goes.
1. We will come together as a town.
2. We will stand up and be counted in the census. Watch the mail for U.S. Census forms, fill them out, and return them in the mail. This will affect all levels of funding for the coming decade for infrastructure improvements we will need to attact tax generating employers to the town.
3. We will strive to improve ourselves individually.
4. We will stamp out visible homelessness. No excuse for veterans, women and children out on the streets. 39% are white males. Where is the outrage? Reverse discrimination, perhaps?
5. We will attend Municipal Advisory Committee meetings. First Tueesday of each month at Ayala Park community center, 7 p.m.
6. We will not buy anything from illegal street vendors, such as tejuino stands, churro carts, or street flower gals. Let's support established local businesses and restaurants, instead.
7. We will not tolerate graffiti. You can call the We Tip hotline anonymously to report it.
8. We will drive safely, soberly, with a CA drivers license and adequate insurance.
9. We will fight for fair and just immigration reform that will protect our borders as well as the rights of citizens and those who want to become U.S. citizens.
10. We will fight to improve and widen the I-10/Cedar Avenue interchange, so Bloomington will not be divided north and south.
